How it works
The word list is SCOWL (sizes 35–70): ~56,000 lowercase English words of 3–8 letters. “Most used” ranks by wordfreq. Definitions come from WordNet 3.0 (Princeton University), and from GCIDE (Webster’s 1913) for words WordNet doesn’t have.
A scanner on a home server asks Cloudflare Registrar’s domain-check API about 20 domains at a time, staying under the API’s 30-requests-a-minute limit. It does .com first for every length, 3 letters up to 8, then the other extensions, again shortest words first. Answers come live from the registries, not a cache.
Available names get re-checked daily, premium names every 3 days and taken names weekly. Prices are Cloudflare’s at-cost first-year price.
